Irene's Story
Life
I have lived in Maine since 1972 and just really love it here. I was never meant to be a "city girl." I am the co-owner of a very nice restaurant here in our town. Life is busy but good. I still love to sing and find my relaxation in books, music, good friends and my surroundings. I have 2 grown stepsons, a daughter in law and a granddaughter (Unbelieveable, isn't it??) My husband and I have a wonderful home and a menagerie of pets. My mom still lives in River Edge so I visit there regularly. I keep in touch with a few classmates from River Dell and would love to hear from you!
School
In high school, I was the "good student," always following directions, doing my home...Expand for more
work and working hard. River Dell was extremely clique-y but I had my circle of friends and for the most part, I enjoyed my high school years. English was always my favorite subject and I'm still an avid reader.
Workplace
After 1 year of college at Rutgers, (I hated it) I packed my bags and moved to Maine. For 23 years, I worked for Hannaford Brothers primarily as an office manager. Good job, good pay, great benefits, met some wonderful people but MAJOR stress. Since 1999, I have been the co-owner of a very nice restaurant here in our town. So I just traded one type of stress for a stress of a different kind. But at least it's mine. And I've made some great friends.
