Irene's Story
Life
I retied from Miller Library in Hamden in 2015. I had been Head of Public Services for almost 20 years. Don't miss the administrative part of my work, especially scheduling a stretched thin staff! I do miss the reference desk.
I keep my mind sharp by studying Milford History and answering questions about it from the Milford History and Vintage Images on FB. In partnership with someone who cleans abandoned headstones, I write biographies of these forgotten Veterans of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish-Americ...Expand for more
an War and World War I. Once the stone is cleaned I post a biography to give the person seeing the bright and clean stone an idea of the long dead Veteran's life. I also put the biographies on Findagrave.com.
I have an undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College in History and a Master's in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. I love seeing friends, reading, doing genealogy and researching topics of interest. I worked in the Hamden Library System for 30+ years before retiring. I'm single.
