attended Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, N.Y.,
where my major areas of concentration were Russian
and European History. After graduating from SLC in 1963,
I earned my M.A. in Russian Studies at N.Y.U. in 1966
and my secondary teaching credential at Hunter College.
While earning my M.A. degree, I taught Russian Language
at Stamford and Rippowam High Schools from 1965-67. In
the summer of 1967 I decided to camp across country
with a girl friend from Germany. After landing in San
Francisco, I made the decision to become a Californian
and have been living here ever since. In 1968 I married John
Ranahan, a computer analyst and settled down in San Bruno,

ster's Degree in Career Counseling at San Francisco State University.Over
the last 15 years, I have worked in the field of

worker's compensation companies. At present, I
am the Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator at
St Paul Travelers in Walnut Creek, California. After
the birth of my grandson Cameron, I decided to
shorten my work week to 4 days, so I could spend

Maureen takes care of him on Wednesday. In addition to
my grandson, I also take care of 2 cats and 2 dogs at home.
As a result of a serious fall, I had a total hip replacement
on my right side 3 years ago. My operation was very successful, but I gained about 20 lbs during my recovery.
I then joined Weight Watchers Club and lost about 18 lbs.
My goal is to lose 30 lbs., so I still have a long way
to go.
