My full name is John Kevin Kitzman and goes by Kevin. I couldn't believe it will be 30 years ago I graduated from Shawnee Mission East H.S. (May 1985) and guess there will be 30 years reunion coming soon!!
I was born in Topeka on March 19, 1967, and raised in Lenexa & Overland Park area (from 1968 to 2001). The schools I attended are: Shawnee Mission East High School, Briarwood Elementary School, Santa Fe Trail Elementary School, Osage Elementary School, Meadowbrook Junior High School.
After High School, I went to Johnson County Community College for two years and received Associate's of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts. Then I went to Kansas University for a year. In 1988, I attended Gallaudet University in Washington, DC for three years and finally earned Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Computer Science on May 1991.
Moved back to Kansas City and got a job as Computer/Print Systems Operator in Operations Branch at Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City on January 13, 1992. Worked there in my graveyard shift (11:00 pm to 7:30 am) for 9 1/2 years and resigned on July 16, 2001. Moved to Harrison, Michigan for job relocation. ndence on Thanksgiving 2001. I had been hunting for a job and decided to enroll at University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in Fall of 2003. Earned program certificate in Cartography/Geographic Information Systems on December 2004. I learned I have 3 more courses shy of another Bachelor's Degree in Geography with Geographic Information Systems emphasis. I decided not to continue as I had been hunting for job as well. I still do with odd jobs but it really pleased me no matter what. I lived in Independence, IA, from March 2003 to April 2007. I then moved to Strawberry Point, IA and been residing since. I bought the house for first time on June 2008 and really enjoy owning the house.
I lost my father due to brain tumor on March 27, 2007 and lost my mother from complications of dialysis prior to her renal artery damages in 2001 on October 22, 2007. Not only my parents that I lost, my favorite aunt passed away on January 8, 2007 of emphysema. 2007 was a bad year. My two grandmothers, Lucille (my maternal grandmother) and Pearl (my paternal grandmother) passed away on September 1, 2000 and July 8, 2005 respectively. Thus the decade of 2000's was the bad one! Enough of that and I have to move on.
