Jeanne's Story
Life
Married since 1963 to Andy Romano from Irvington Morrell HS class of 1958 , More about him later. We have two sons . One grand daughter so far. I'm a former bookkeeper, now housewife, muralist, craft painter. Won Best of show and first place ribbons for my oil paintings. I make boutique beaded Christmas ornaments as another hobby. Recently took up the hobby of photography. The local birds and scenery are my subjects, but my favorite is my grand daughter. We have lived in 7 different homes and have finally settled in Ventura County, CA. We have lived in CA for 38 years.
Andy was Creative Director/Senior VP of largest ad agencies in NY and Los Angeles. Now semi-retired in So Cal he turned his life-long love of trains and his artistic talent to "drawing" railroad scenes on the computer which he sells on eBay and privately. He has produced over 500 subjects so far and offers limited editions on trainutz dot com. He is a nationally recognized railroad artist with his work featured in rail publications and in the collections of many railroad historical societies across the US. He is also a model railroader with many covers, center spreads and artricles he has contributed to model railroader magazines. He is also the author of railroad photo books. His advertising career awarded him a Clio, the "Oscar" of advertising as well as many, many awards and accolades for his work. In NYC he headed the Kodak advertising group of 35 people and together they produced years of award wi...Expand for more
nning commercials and print ads. In Los Angeles he worked with many Hollywood celebrities and cast "unknowns" who became famous years later, but his biggest thrill was meeting first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong at a recording session. His career took him across America and overseas on commercial shoots.
Andy and I gardened together in the spring and summer and did home fix-up projects during the winter at our mountain home for 18 years. Our garden was a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat. - In June of 2021 we sold our home and moved back to So Cal and left the harsh winters behind. We celebrated our 59th wedding anniversary in 2022 and are looking forward to our 60th. Our current project is remodeling our new home to suit our tastes.
Joe Roman's wife's EHS yearbook was ruined when a water pipe burst, so we asked on our Delphi forum for a 1964 grad to loan him their yearbook to scan to replace his wife's. Naturally a yearbook has autographs, so Joe sent me the scans and I used Photoshop to clean off the writing. Little did we know that would be the beginning of a very rewarding project. As of the end of 2013 Joe and I had archived 60 EHS & JPS yearbooks and donated $3000 to charity from the sale of the CD's. The Metuchen Historical Society has a DVD of all the yearbooks we archived. EHS forum is forums (dot) delphiforums (dot com) slash EdisonHighNJ slash start. Unfortunately, Joe passed away in Feb., 2018 and the project has now been shelved.
