J.O.'s Story
Life
My beautiful wife Sally and I have been married for 51 years ,we have two georgous daughters, Christine and Sarah, Christine is married to a great young man from Canada, and lives in Redmond and Sarah and her husband Sean have just bought a house in Portland. We couldn't be more proud of both of them. We moved to Oregon in 1993 from Visalia. Then went north to Gig Harbor,Washington in 1995 and back to Oregon in 1999 and it looks as though we will probably retire in this area or at least somewhere in the Northwest , it's a great place to live , lots of water, clean air, and blue skys , we make it down to Calif once a year but don't like to deal with the heat, so are always glad to get home although we are equally happy to see our old friends in Visalia.I worked for So Cal Edison for 10 years when Sally and I were first married but have been a car nut all my life and spent the next 15 years in the auto industry. In 1996 I made the transition to the R.V. business. In June of this year "2006" we decided to move to a little dryer climate . we both love the central Oregon lifestyle and weather so we made the move to Bend . We spend as much time as we can at our cabin, about an hour from B...Expand for more
end , in a beautiful part of the Cascades called Crescent Lake,so the move not only put us closer to our cabin , it also enables us to enjoy over 300 days of sunshine here in the high desert of central Oregon. On Dec 31st 2006, our daughter Christine ,presented Sally and I with our first grandchild, a girl , Callie Annette Reed , we are so happy to have this little love bug. I have many fond memorys of those carefree days gone by,,, not many regrets,,,and a lot to be thankful for,,,,,,all in all life is good...I hope all who might read this have been as blessed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,as I said , life is good,,,,,, In the spring of 2007 ,, our daughter, Christine , little Callie , and daddy Bruce moved to central Oregon and live less than 1/4 mile from the overjoyed Grand parents,, ahh,,, did I say life is good....... You know ,, I have always known that there was a special bond between a father and a daughter or in my case,, daughters ,, and I will be forever grateful for that,, I also have come to realize why all fathers cry at their daughter's wedding,,, Its a combination of the addition of a son-in-law and a subtraction from the retirement account.......and yes,,,,,,Life is still Good!!
