JR's Story
Hello from Florida to all from Central High School. -- My wife [Vicki Gell-'68] of 50-years and I live in Oviedo, Florida, 15 miles N.E. of Orlando, Florida with our three small dogs; 3-kids aren't kids anymore...
I joined the Navy in Sept. '65 - Navy Hospital Corpsman (Combat Medic), detached to the Marine Corps infantry in Vietnam (Nov '66-Nov'67). I got lucky and came home alive and in one piece, primarily because of the Marines that were around me; some Marines weren't so lucky. -- Semper Fi...
I met Vicki Gell ('68) shortly after coming home from Vietnam and married her in Nov '69. - She is the best thing that has ever happened to me... We have two sons and a daughter. The two boys have 5-kids among them.
After Vicki & I were married, I settled down and got serious about life and family. -- I quit my full-time job in '75 to attend the Univ. of Maryland full time, graduating in '78 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Currently, I am a licensed professional engineer, semi-retired, doing some consulting work under my own one-man business ,
The family moved to Florida in '82. We came back to Maryland briefly in '88, and then returned to Florida in '9...Expand for more
1. -- Florida is our home. -- Vicki is retired as well (35-years / DEA) luvin the good life here in Florida.
I ride a bicycle quite a bit and do some surfing occasionally - ocean waves that is -- 8'-6" longboard for old guys like me.
I am a Rotarian of 25+ years. I enjoy my Rotary service and the Rotary International fellowship. But most of all, I enjoy giving back to the community where I live and work. -- Life is good and I am delighted to have birthdays...

Vicki & I were delighted to see so many old friends, and to make new ones, at our 50th high school reunion in O.C. over the weekend. -- And, a BIG thank you to the reunion committee for their hard work and good job. We all had a great time..
From Florida to all in Maryland and other parts of the country, we have a lot of life ahead of us. Take care of yourselves and your families, and enjoy your life. It's your turn and you deserve it!
