Jack's Story
Well, what can I say? Been there & done that! Issac Elementary, Carl Hayden High School & then Phoenix College. I was offered an athletic ride at ASU and a number of other universities for wrestling. We were National Champs at PC and that was a hoot! I did not go on to any of the universities; as I thought it was time to get out of poverty!
I spent 17 years with a large general engineering contractor prior to going into business for myself in 1985. Gosh, I have had a lot of fun being a heavy equipment contractor; I really enjoyed my Tonka Toys; they have been more fun than an "E" ticket at Disneyland! I am in process of turning the business over to my youngest son, who is doing a bang of a job. He came back to the business just in time for me; as, I have totally exhausted my drive to chase the...Expand for more
dollar.
The success of the business was enjoyed; but, the ensuing divorce was not so pleasant at the 34 year mark.
Looking in the rear view mirror, it just seems like yesterday that we were gathered in the gym before the commencement of our CHHS graduation and were advised that we really needed to think about our direction in life. In retrospect, it was not so much what we did or will do in this life; but, where will we spend our eternity? For me, I am sold out to the Word of God! No, I am not perfect; but, have the quest in my spirit to fulfill my purpose in this life. I do desire to acquire my "Eternnal 'E' Ticket" ..........no, I am not "proselytizing" here........just reflecting!
Like Bill Murray said "That's a fact, Jack!" : )
I hope to see you at the fifty year reunion! Jack Dykstra
