Jack's Story
Life
I joined the Army in 1975 and went to language school to learn Russian. Married in '76. Two daughters, and two step-children, grown. Moved to the Washington DC area of Northern Virginia in '87 after multiple assignments overseas and retired here from the Army in '95. My first wife has passed away and I have happily remarried a Registered Nurse and Professional Counselor. I left the Federal civil service, as a Senior Supervisory Intelligence Officer and Command Training Officer for the US Army Intelligence and Security Command, in August 2014. I currently am working as an outpatient therapist at Courage Health and Wellness in Virginia. ience Trainer by the University of Pennsylvania, a nationally board certified clinical mental health counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional by the International Association of Trauma Professionals. I am also trained as a dialectical behavior therapist. I worked as a mental health and substance abuse therapist at the Rappahonnock Juvenile Detention Center, providing counseling support services to incarcerated adolescents and their families. Currently, I am an outpatient therapist specializing in developmental and combat trauma, Behavior Management, and marriage counseling. I’m an approved outside provider of mental health services for the VA Community Care Network. I have a very, very busy and successful private practice here. I have six wonderful grandchildren (four boys, two girls).
