Jack's Story
I have lived a whole lifetime since 1967. I went on to Victor Valley Community College then transferred to UC Riverside graduating in 1972 with a BS degree in chemistry. When I went back to Victorville it took me a whole year to find a Lab Tech position. Wound up in Anadite but left that for General Motors in Detroit while I lived with my Uncle. That fell through and in 6 months was back in Victorville. By a miracle I got a job with Purolator in Newbury Park, CA and left Victorville for good, visiting once in a while. The biggest surprise of my life was that she actually married me. Especially since I was a flop with chicks in high school. That was then surpassed by the birth of my son, who is now 22 years old and out of the nest. We started out in a trailer in Oxnard and now live in a house in Simi. I am retired from working nearly 20 years with the water district as a Lab Tech. I am now a certified Security Officer. I live quietly with my wife Karen whom works as a preschool Teacher. I am happier than I was at high school cause I don't worry about whether I am good enough to be accepted. I am.
