Graduated in '77 (thanks Mrs Sudduth!), did a short stint in the Air Force, returned home to the Ohio Air National Guard. Worked around town doing different jobs while taking more firefighting classes. Worked at the Delaware County EMS from 1981 to 1988, Moved to Tri-Township Fire Dept, where I am presently working as a Shift Captain. I have 4yrs to go until retirement but who's counting. After I leave, I may get into Fire Investigation with an insurance company or whatever. Several highlights of my career was my son joining the FD in 2004 and my daughter now interested in EMS work and is working toward that goal. I was working one shift with my son in the summer of 2007 when we were called to a heart attack victim. The victim was not breathing or had a pulse when we arrived, and CPR was in progress. Matt and I continued CPR, and did some first treatment until a Medic unit arrived. To make a long story short, the victim survived and was able to walk from the hospital. We were both awarded a Lifesaving ribbon at the annual christmas party later that year. I was a proud dad standing next to my son. I hope I can do something similar with my daughter.
