More about Jackie:"Want to know what I've been "up to?" Google me! LOL. Let's just say I'm well published.
I've become the ultimate nerd! Not! Actually, I'm just bit geeky with a little bit of nerd stirred in.
Where the hell did the last twenty years go?
In a nutshell, work, work and more work.
All work and no play has made “Jackie” a dull girl.
Not really.
Since high school, I’ve lived a fast and furious life crusing through “careers” in my life - reporter, editor, photographer; then museum education specialist, space camp director all the way to being the “right hand” to the boss at the National Solar Observatory.
Kids - uh no.
Husband - a definite no. (Th...Expand for more
e last prospect was an astronomer/aerospace engineer I was with for 6 years. Let’s just say, that was a mistake.)
So what do I do besides work? Work on other projects/hobbies of course!
I’m a 25-year member of the Commemorative Air Force (aka as the “Fuel Lady”) and am a certified “marshaller” as well as being one of leaders of our Maintenance/Fuel/Oil ground crews. I lived on the airsho circuit for a while and helped my parents restore to flying condition a genuine 1942 ME-108 Messerschimitt.
I’’m working on being a “lifer” of Kiwanis International. I became a member of Kiwanis one-week after the organization allowed women in their membership. I’ve held numerous leadership positions at both a local and regional level. Community service is a big part of my life, as I’m also the ex-President of the Sunspot Community (aka as “mayor).
Astronomy isn’t just a hobby anymore. LOL. I’m in “deep” with hopes of finishing my astronomy career in Maui, Hawaii in a few years. But first I’ll have to work on my spelling of magnetohydrodynamics first. Oh, I do know how to spell that. Hehe.
It’s just me and my 9 pound chihuahua Pico living in the mountains. (Yes, I’m a mountain girl now.)
We like the peace...".
