Jackie's Story
Life
I am in such awe that nearly 20 years has passed since I first fell so hard for my first and only true love. We were so young (and skinny) then, with naive dreams that everyone said were just that. I know now that we were truly blessed to have found each other then, and that we are still so happy to this day. Randy Schoneck, a 1985 SHS graduate, and I have an amazing 11 year old son named Zachary who is the center of our universe. We are also raising our 12 year old nephew named Cody who is a very bright, handsome and loving addition to our family.
We moved around quite a bit for the first few years thanks to the military, but they did put us up in Hawaii for 4 years so the accommodations could have been worse I suppose. Now, we are fortunate to live close enough to Shelton that we can visit whenever we want to, but yet we are still far enough away that the in-laws call before they come for a visit.
Randy and I both have been rather remiss in keeping in touch with most of our high school friends, although there are a few people that havenÂt been able to shake us yet. ave a small circle of dear friends, but choose to spend most of our time involved in family activities (maybe because nobody else can stand us).
We enjoy the outdoors, gardening, fishing, hunting and off-roading (my term for RandyÂs driving), but mostly we enjoy just hanging out and being together. Randy has retired from the military, gotten his degree and is now working in a job he loves for a company that adores him, (almost as much as I do). I am in the process of finishing up my bachelorÂs degree in professional communications. When (and if) I grow up I hope to write books that people will hopefully want to read.
I couldnÂt be happier in the place I am in life right now, but IÂll admit that every once in awhile when I am feeling especially nostalgic I do slip into RandyÂs SHS lettermanÂs coat that still hangs proudly in our closet (not that I can snap it up anymore). I met many special people at SHS, and in some ways that place was a stepping stone in my life path, but deep down, I also know that SHS gave me the greatest gift of all; the life I have now, and the partner I have to share it with!
