Jacquie's Story
I HAVE RE-MARRIED!! HALLELUJAH!
After HS graduation I went on to Central State University now called UCO and continued involvement in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant system. In 1975 I represented Midwest City in the Miss Oklahoma Pageant and as a result met the musical arranger/accompanist (i.e. keyboard player) who would become my husband for 30 wonderful years. I married Gary Hopper in 1976 and lost him to cancer in April of 2006. In our early years we performed in musical groups professionally in the OKC area before entering the ministry in 1983. We relocated to Melbourne, Florida in 2002 where Gary served as an elementary music teacher. We built a new house in which my younger daughter presently lives about 6 miles from the be...Expand for more
ach on the East Coast. We raised two daughters, Krista, age 29 who is married with two sons in Oklahoma City, and Kasey, age 26 who works for a digital media company called LiveTV in Florida. Both of our girls are musical and actually sing better than their mom.
After the loss of my husband, Gary, I began traveling across the country in ministry, where I met and married County Commissioner Joe Kirkwood of Amarillo, Texas in September of 2007. I have relocated my minstry to Amarillo and am co-pastoring a church there with my new husband. I have written a manual on establishing music ministry in the local church and also manage an Internet Radio Station, called Praise On Fire Radio, broadcasting Worship music and teaching on the Web.
