Jacquelyn's Story

Hi everyone. I left California in 1973 to stay with my grandmother in Oklahoma. I went to school in Paris Texas for Computer Science then moved to Dallas Texas to find work. I have been in the Dallas area ever since. At one point I was a Senior Programmer for the Federal Reserve Bank but then decided to get into consulting in 1984. I am still consulting, predominately in the banking industry. I have been in this career over 30 years and it has been very good to me. I have two children who are grown. My daughter, Cherissa, lives nearby and has blessed me with 2 grandsons. She freelances in web design and her husband Roy is a successful insurance salesman. My son, Phil, is a newly graduated trucker and is moving to Texas from Fallbrook California. He expects to marry his long time girl friend, Colleen in October. As for me, I left a failed marriage in California. I finally got the marriage thing right when I married my husband Harry. He is also a consultant in the computer industry. I've known Harry since 1990 but we didn't...Expand for more
tie the knot until July 4, 2003! We have a great time together. I was terrible in math when I was in school and here I am in computers. (Hey they are the largest calculators you know). I was not interested in politics but I am quite an activist now for equal rights for the America worker. I was not interested in world events but my husband and I both have friends all over the world and we actively seek to learn all we can about what is going on in the world. I flunked accounting but I am an active and successful trader in the stock market. I flunked home ec, but I am a fantastic cook. I have mastered several types of cuisine including Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean, Moraccan and good old southern cooking. I WAS interested in psychology and it was a good thing. I have met some really crazy people out here and some of them are my best friends. My husband is at the top of the list! For one who was probably voted least likely to succeed, I have done very well and I am happy with my life. I couldn't ask for anything more.
