Jacquie's Story
I am married to Don Willis & live in OK. I am a stay at home Mom of five. We are involved in church as a family.
I have been reading a lot this year (early before the kids are up) to help me think again. One of my new favorite authors is John Piper. Two books that are very challenging, "Don't Waste Your Life" and "When I Don't Desire God". I have learned more about living my life to honor God with what I do, no matter how "menial" a task may seem. We are to be so satisfied in Him, not in the gifts He gives us. We are so very materially blessed in this country, but we are so dissastified with life. I'm learning that blessings aren't necessarily...Expand for more
material. It's what done for eternity that will last.
This has been a hard school year with me having to challenge some things in our school system. And it's been hard with some who think I'm not trusting God because of it. I think of all the Church Reformers and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the truth. Were their live stress free? No. Did God use them to make a difference? Absolutely. We wouldn't have a Bible to read if it weren't for men like John Wycliffe & William Tyndale, among others.
Life isn't always easy, but God is always here and He is always good. May you find in Him the only true life, joy & peace that one can have.
