James's Story
After graduation in '66 I went to work at the Ford World Headquarters and I was there for four years. I got married in 1969 to a girl who graduated from Divine Child High School in Dearborn that same year. We were just kids. I was 21, she was 18 (she turned 18 the week before we got married). We are still married to this day, and we have a daughter, 32, a granddaughter 7, and a grandson 6.
I now work in information technology as a network administrator, and I also manage the helpdesk operation. I have only been in this area of work for 18 months. Before this career switch, I worked 14 years as the manager of marketing and communications for a non-profit group in Detroit called Focus: HOPE. Prior to Focus: HOPE, I worked 14 years at the suburban...Expand for more
transit authority (SMART), and was the CEO when I left in 1992.
After living in Westland for 27 years (and Dearborn 3 years, and Birmingham for 7 years) we moved into a condominium in Canton four years ago.
Of the four siblings in our family, my older brother Rich and I are the only ones left. My older sister, Diane, was killed in a hit and run accident in 1971. My younger brother, Danny, died in 2003 of unknown causes. My parents have been gone for many years.
I have been an avid photographer since the early 70syears, and I have a website that shows much of my work. The rules at Classmates do not permit including the address for the website, so if you:re curious, shoot me an email here, and I would be happy to send you the link.
