Jim's Story

I am currently residing in Brighton, Michigan, and am separated. My schools include Clarenceville High School and Oakland University. After graduating from C.H.S., I accepted a football scholarship to play at Univ. of North Dakota. Unfortunately, I did not take the academics seriously and lost my college deferment...bingo, I was drafted. In lieu of going into the Army, I decided to join the Marine Corps instead, mainly because I liked the looks of the "Dress Blue" uniform. I served from May of '68 to May of '71. In June of '71, I married Janet Anderson, also from C.H.S., and remained married for 27 years until my divorce in 2000. My first "real job" came in '74, when I went to work for a major sporting goods company, covering 5 states. Eventually I was promoted to Regional Sales Manager, and then to National Marketing and Promotions Director. It was a real kick to be traveling the entire U.S. and getting paid to have a blast. Unfortunately the compa...Expand for more
ny was sold, and in order to survive I created my own independent sales company...Jim Amick & Associates. Eventually, i transitioned away from Sporting Goods and in to the Natural Products/Health Food Industry in 1988. I took to this industry like a fish to water and achieved more that I ever thought possible, I moved from sales to sales management and new product development adviser in dietary supplements and sports Nutrition. As as result, I was introduced to John Wharton, the trainer of Detroit Red Wings. I served as an adviser to the Red Wings trainer from '96 thru '99. Now that was a great time, especially being able to attend any home game free. Allot has changed in the last year and a half. My 2nd wife and I have separated and I dissolved my sales agency, I am currently "semi-retired", which means that I am willing to go back to work for the right opportunity. In the mean time, I am just chillin' One of Jim's favorite quotes is:"Semper Fi".

Here's the question of the day. So if Jiminy Cricket was indeed a cricket, shouldn't he have been black? He looks more like Jiminy Grasshopper to me. Just sayin'...
