/P, Client Care Specialist 9/92: moved to Seattle, WA 10/92-Employed with Northwest Youth Services-Youth/Resident Counselor 11/93: moved BACK to Ft. Lauderdale, FL 12/94-Employed with Children's Diagnostic & Treatment Center, Inc.-Research Associate/Study Coordinator Whew! I had not faced all this in one setting or even in thought all at once until now... wow. I was a big slacker. But in my "defense," I had left most of those jobs on my own volition, and employment I considered to be pretty major steps of growth (2 total) had laid me off due to massive company-wide terminations. One of my favorite jobs was at Center One-an information and referral agency for people living with HIV/AIDS. A very grass roots org. I was working there as a Client Care Specialist (read Social Worker without degree!) Reason for leaving: terminated due to not having a degree. That job later inspired me to study SW. Currently, I am one of two research protocol coordinators facilitating a community-based mobilization effort to reduce the risks and transmission of HIV/AIDS among youth in Broward County, Florida. It is an incredible opportunity and I am very privileged to be a part of this project. Military If they would ask, I would feel obligated to tell. So no military history for me.
