Life
After h.s. I went to college (FSU) in Tallahasse, FL. After college, went home to mom & dad in Greece, then did a stint for USAID in Africa (my dad was at the embassy), then moved back to Greece. Couldn't find work in Greece, so returned to Tallahassee where I ended up as a proofreader at a legal publishing co. for 8 yrs. Met my now wife in '93, married in '94, & moved to VA. VA didn't work out, so moved to south FL in '96. That got old, so moved to east AL in 2000 so my wife could be a full-time professor at JSU. I went to graduate school in west GA. My wife's contract at JSU ended so she found a job at McNeese State U. in Lake Charles, (SW) Louisiana. Finished my master's degre...Expand for more
e in history July '04 & substitute taught & tutored for a while. We and our house survived Hurricane Rita--evacuated to Little Rock. Started to get teacher certification but, after a long-term assignment at an alternative school, decided that teaching kids isn't for me (my wife had done it also and didn't like it). Tried to pursue a Ph.D in history at LSU but my academic goals didn't match theirs--it's 2 hrs. away anyway. So, I'm now in training to teach an online history survey class at the university fall '07, with also an in-class lectureship if the professor who normally teaches it goes on sabbatical. Maybe I'll pursue a Ph.D if we move from Lake Charles, but we're here for now.
