James's Story
Left High School. Got a Bachlor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Master's in Environmental Engineering from of all places New Jersey Institute of Technology (I was working with Mobil in Princeton, N.J. at the time). Worked for Mobil for 23 yrs. in various Supervisory, Managerial and Consulting positions. Left Mobil to run Safety & Environmental Affairs for Murphy Oil Corp. Managed to gain enough weight to run into blood pressure problems and retired at 60 yrs of age. Have lost the weight, got blood pressure under control, and am consulting part time for various and sundry.
First married Beth Mitchell (Pam Cooper referred to her as the "midget"). Was miserable in that relationship for almost 10 years. Got divorced and had various serial monogomous relationships for the next 10 years until I met my soulmate, Amy. We have been married for 20 years and yet it seems like such a short time. finishing each other's sentences and acting like teenagers.
Life is good here in the New Orleans area. The very best of everything in spite of the setbacks from Katrina and other storms. We were truly blessed. We have a 4000 sq. ft. house on a little over 2 acres with a lot of tall pine trees and our only Katrina damage was five shingles and some flashing over a doorway. We did have a lot of downed trees, however, and it cost a lot to get them removed and the landscaping redone. Thanks to the oil companies for all the bonuses and stock options for all those years!!!
I do work in California (Los Angeles and San Diego mostly) from time to time and always think about the "good old days". Nobody that I talk to about PV High can believe the money spent on red tile roofs for a high school. I tell them that it doesn't have to make sense in Camelot. Hope all that read this are doing well and may the Good Lord bless and keep you or should I say ya'll, or chere for the ladies.
