Life
Graduated Mississippi Delta Junior College in 1988, A.A. in Accounting; The University of Southern Mississippi in 1992, B.S. in History; Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 1996, M.Div. (Master of Divinity). Was Director of the Baptist Student Union at Riverside Community College in Riverside, CA, 1992-1996, and Director of Student Work for the Calvary-Arrowhead Southern Baptist Association (of churches), 1994-1995. Helped re-start the Baptist Student Union at Cal-State Fullerton, 1995-1996. Led disaster relief teams into Los Angeles eleven times in 1994 after the Northridge earthquake. Minister of Music & Youth at First Baptist Church, Waveland, MS, 1998-1999; then as Associate Pastor at First International Baptist Church, Gulfport, MS, 1999-2000. Taught at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary's Leavell College, 1998. Was Senior Pastor at Monroe Street Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA, 2001-2002. Was in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001, for a conference at the Capitol. Initiated the Community Marriage Agreement for Bogalusa, LA, 2001-2002. Elected Precinct Delegate to the Hinds County (Mississippi) Republican Convention, 2004. Ran for United States Congress, 2004. Married the former Lelane Fundal of the Philippines. We have one son, Joshua Broadwater, born in 1997. I presently work in the state government in Mississippi.
