James's Story
To remind you about who I was: I grew up mostly at Chelyan, attended Chelyan Jr. High, and was in the class of '54 at EBHS. I was an Eagle Scout. In school I sang and played the trombone. I was in the All-County Band and Chorus and in All-State band, as well as North-South band and about any other band or orchestra I could get into.
After graduation from EBHS I entered WVU. After my undergraduate degree, I entered the WVU School of Medicine and earned a Doctor of Medicine degree in '63. During my undergraduate years I played in the marching and concert bands, and I was active in the Baptist Student Fellowship. I played and was vocalist in a dance band during that time.

, during which time I was a Flight Surgeon in the USAF and completed an Ear, Nose and Throat Residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. In 1973 I decided to return to WV to practice medicine and after researching the state I decided that Clarksburg was the largest community with the most need for my specialty. I had an ENT practice there for nearly 40 years. I was also a Clinical Professor at the WVU School of Medicine. I am retired now, but I volunteer in a free clinic.
While at WVU I met my wife, Sue. We live at Bridgeport. We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. We are active in the Simpson Creek Baptist Church. Over the years I have participated in community theater, choruses, bands, orchestras, and Boy Scouts.
