James's Story
Life
After quitting School in 1960, I joined the Navy, Met my first wife. We have four children and then divorced. Went on with a career in the Navy, first riding Destroyer's USS Sampson, USS Cone, USS Sierra, then transferred to Submarines making 12 SSBN Patrols USS James Madison Blue crew, USS James Madison Gold Crew, USS Lewis and Clark Blue and USS Casimir Pulaski Blue Crew. Shore duty was ComSubGru 8 Naples Italy where I met my future bride, we were married Sept 1983. After 23 years I retired January 1984 and followed my wife around until she retired from the Navy in January 1992. We then moved to Cape Coral, Florida. Building our retirement home, and been here since. I then worked in Construction until I broke my back in November 1994, after surgery I was able to walk again and then back to school to learn Accounting. I would like to update and keep all informed of what has been going on in the past. In late September 2008 I had to lay my motorcycle down on the highway in Fort Myers. I was doing about 45 to 50 MPH when a car stopped on the road to talk to some people at a bus stop. She stopped real fast so I had two choices, hit her or lay the bike down, in 4:00 o'clock traffic. I guess the good lord was watching over me, no one hit either myself or the bike. The bike 0sustained $ 5,100.00 in damages and I had road rash from head to toes. But I walked away on my own power. Since then the bike has been repaired 1 1/2 months in the shop. And the last of the road rash is about gone. I have been doing a lot of riding since then and loving the freedom of the road. I ride to work every day and on Saturdays with a bunch out of Naples.
