James's Story
Freshman year, I had Mr. Apsche for English. He gave us book reports to do and we were to read our reports out loud in class. He chose me some old west book written by Bret Harte. Now, I hate to read any kind of long story. So, of course, I put off reading the book until the night before this report was due. front of the class and I am going on with all this stuff that was just complete nonsense and everybody in the class is taking all kinds of notes from what I am saying. I remember being amazed that everybody was buying this crap. Mr. Apsche said nothing the whole time. He must have appreciated my creativity. So the next day, he did my whole report over again and everyone had to take new notes.
