James Calder:  

Class of 61. Worked at Army Map that summer. Almost joined the Navy submarine service but was persuaded not to. Entered Montgomery JC that fall, football team for 2 years. Was a PhysEd major but took all bio science courses. Transferred to UMaryland Fall 63 as Criminology major. Worked to pay tuition at Safeway on McA Blvd. Married in 6/65. Graduated 1/66 a joined US Army Reserve, Moved to Southern CA and began work at the old Douglas Acft in summer 66 as Admin investigative asst to Dir of Security. Number was up in 3/67 for Army basic training in 3/67. Returned to Douglas (then was McDonnell-D but was hired as security inspector at Hughes Acft Co in summer 68 and remained their until 1972. Completed MS in Crim in 6/71. Moved back to MD and taught at UMD in the Inst of CrimJust & Criminol from 72-74 but developed the security admin courses while there. 7 years in U...Expand for more
