James's Story

Actually I left College Park in April of 57, moved with my folks to Franklin, N.C. Joined the Navy in Sept of 57. After 22years of service I retired as a Chief Petty Officer in Sept of 79 I married in Feb 60, my wife Betty and I had 3 children, 1 girl and 2 boys,we lost our first son at 13 months due to birth injuries, lost our second son at 17 years in an auto accident. 1/02, bought a boat and my grandaughter and I did a lot of fishing. As if 9/03 I am a fiveyear cancar soviour. I made a mistake when I entered 1957 class, I would have been in the 58 grad. class After joining the Navy I got my GED, After retiring from the Navy I went to Pensacola Jr. College for a couple of years. [Oct 19, 2010 at the age of 69 and 1 week my loving wife of almost 51 years died from COPD
