James E.'s Story
Life
I retired from the Marine Corps in 1973 after 20 years and moved to South
Africa and started at the Univ of Cape Town in the Business Science Dept
as a junior lecturer. After 2 1/2 yrs I got a post at Rhodes Univ in Grahamstown
where I lecturered in Marketing. I tendered my resignation and did my higher
education diploma and moved to Port Elizabeth in December 1977. In 1978,
I took up a post at Lawson Brown High School, where I taught Accounting,
History and Business Economics. In 1986, I moved to Theodor Herzl where I
taught Business Econ, History and Computer Studies.
My South African wife passed away in 1991, and I remarried in Oct 1991.
I have two daughters. One is married and I have two grandchildren. A boy
and a girl. They live some 6-7 hours drive from PE.
My activities include golf and bowling. I have won many tournaments during
my 30 years in SA. South African Mast...Expand for more

Handicap twice. My highest games are 265 and 266. Average 185
I belong to a Senior Golfing Organisation called SAGES and travel a great
deal playing golf at various centers. I was the PE Branch Secretary for 4 years.
South Africa is a beautiful place to visit and I hope some of you will come
and see me. I made it our 50th class reunion. It was great to see so many old
friends after some 35 years, as that was my last reunion.In Sept 98
I was disagnosed as a type 2 diabetic and have been on tablets
ever since. However, I only take a half in the moring and my sugar
is about +-5.0(this is SA measured). we Have in SA some wonderful
foot cream for stimulating circulation and I'll bring a tube of each
with when I come for our 55th and I'll be glad to massauge anyone's
feet. If you have numbness, this is essential for you. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
