James's Story

Hi, If you¿re looking at this and you remember me, than you most likely remember me as the Yugo guy. LOL I had a tan colored Yugo with tinted windows, white letter tires, a braw and a CB antenna with a raccoon¿s tail on it. It was kind of hard to miss and with 40 mpg I went on a lot of road trips in that car. I only went to Aurora West for a year and half, before that I had gone to 4 other high schools, but I always remember Aurora West as the school I liked the best and knew the most people. I loved that school and most of the people that went there, it was a strange school at first because it was the first school that I ever went to that almost everyone got along. The burnouts, geeks, jocks and so one where always at each others party¿s and I found that to be really cool. I met my best and life long friend at Aurora West in 1987, you might remember him as Ben Dover Bam It 69 or at least that is how he signed my year book. His real name is Mike and we have been friends of over 20 years now. We are still in touch and get together when we can; it is kind of hard because he is still in the service of our country and never in one place very long. Now that I have told you a little about who I am I will tell you what I have been doing for the past 20 years? On January, 17, 1989 I went into the Marine Corps, after boot camp and school I was sent to Hawaii for 3 years. I was in the infantry, so we did not spend a lot of time on the island, we were always off somewhere doing training and only got back to Hawaii about 3 months a year, but man it was sure nice there, I would have stayed there when I got out if it did not cost so much to live there. In 1991 when the Gulf War broke out I was sent over seas and served my country. I was pa...Expand for more
rt of task force Toro and we were the ones that went straight up the middle and cleared out the Kuwait airport. I will never forget the people that I knew that did not make it home and have the utmost respect for the men and women who protect our county, even if I do not really agree with this new War. In 1991 I met my first wife and we had a little girl together, we lived together in Hawaii for a year and a half until I got out of the Marines. My daughter loves that fact that she was born in Hawaii and lets all of her friend know that she was born in a big pink hospital in Hawaii. In 1993 I got out and moved back to Illinois, I started to work for my father in computer repair. My first wife and I broke up and she moved Ohio back to her hometown. So in 1994 I moved to Ohio so that I could be closer to my daughter. Things did not work out in Ohio and I moved back to Chicago in 1996. From 1996 to 1998 I went to Lincoln Technical institute, for Diesel and Automotive repair. When I finish school I moved to south west Missouri right on the boarder of Arkansas and bought 8 acres of land. I have lived there ever since and I really love it here. The day that I moved out here I met my wonderful wife, she had two kids and I had my little girl and than we had two little girls together. So I have 5 kids from 15 years to 15 month old. I have worked for the same company as the warranty manager for the past 8 years and really like what I do. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? I have been on the Radio a bunch of times, you might be able to hear some interviews I have done if you Google my name. I also run a website for a radio talk show host named Frank Whalen. I look forward to seeing everyone this coming year.
