James's Story
Graduated from Walled Lake Western High School in 1981 and from there went to the University of Detroit, from which I graduated in 1985.
After a brief stint in Michigan, I got a job working for a Member of Congress - from Florida - and moved to Washington, DC. In due course I would work for three other Members - the last as both his Legislative Director and Press Secretary. Also worked as a Press Secretary for the U.S. Commission on Security & Cooperation in Europe and then as a Congressional Liaison for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
Currently I am an independent consultant, working for various clients.
On the personal side, while I have kept in touch with a lot of folks from my high school and college days - including several WLW teachers - I am still quite single. This compensated for by having no less than 5 godchildren, only one of which is family related. (Apparently my friends think I am good with kids or something.)

ocus on my political work, though I have traveled quite a bit. Visiting 38 countries, all but three being pleasure travel. The other three being work related - though in each case I managed to squeeze in a bit of pleasure travel.
As far as the countries I have been to, they are: Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Belize, Barbados, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Aruba, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Ireland, United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, France, Monaco, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, Malta, Montenegro, Republic of Georgia.
Also, I have visited Puerto Rico and every American state east of the Mississippi River except Minnesota, Arkansas and Mississippi. Also visited the states of Missouri, Texas and California. Lived in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC until 2 years ago. Currently I am back in Michigan.
