James Gregor:  

During my years at Adams I Played drums in Jimmy Lambert's Band, I joined the Navy in Sept. of '48 after graduation in January '47 I spent 4 years in a Helicopter squadron , mainly as a mechanic. When i left the service i went to work at Republic aviation while attending Hofstra College at night under the GI Bill. I left Republic and moved to Springfield, Mass. to take a job at Hamilton Standard Division of United Aircraft Corp. in 1957. I left Hamilton after 10 years as a supervisor in the Quality Assurance Dept. and Bought into a Small machine shop which made parts for the aircraft industry. My brother Gerard died in 1969 at age 39 from a heart attack. It was a tragic time. Soon after Gerard's death the business went bankrupt and I went to work Selling for a larger machine shop Soon after that I had my first heart attack and was disabled for a long time.
