James's Story

When I was At Waggener High,Ilived in a foster home. Most foster kids back then were tagged as problem kids,or no good, which is far from the truth.most of us were deserted, abandoned,or had delinquent parents who were put in jail and all of us paid for it by being split up. I was kinda crazy, and did nutty things at times with friends.I was into boxing, karate, archery, drinking and girls.I was'nt Mr.bad ass but the bullies never seemed to get around to me,even when I was there while they were doing their fight thing for kicks.I did mine for real and they knew it. My foster father died suddenly, and that really messed up my head.He was the only man who ever treated me like a son.I kept hearing his voice in a croud or seeing him turn a corner in front of me.So on my 17th birthday[07/23]of 1974 I went into the Navy.Did most of my time on the USS John F.Kennedy.Married Pamela Bond[class of 1974,Waggener]in 03/19/1975.That lasted through three children and nine years.I did'nt know anything about good parenting,so I treated them like I was treatedin a lot of ways, but I always let them know that I loved them.I was very hard on my kids, which today I regret sometimes but they are survivors and are doing well.I,ve worked hard all my life but with little formal education I always got as high as I could in a company without a college degree.I currently drive a semi over the road and enjoy this more than anything I've ever done except when I was teaching martial arts[judo and tomikiryu aikido]in Oklahoma,Arkansas and Kentucky.I quit teaching and started driving in Feb.1995.My wife,Karen Sue became my co-driver later that same year and we have ben all over this good ol U.S.A. We lost her youngest son in May 2004,and mom will never fully recover from that.We do believe that it is God that has brought us through the tough times like that and given us strenght when we did'nt have any left.Karen always refers to the poem Footprints in the sand.We love Christ and believe that we've been through enough hell, and now that our other children between the two of us[seven]are grown and mostly doing well. It's time for us to be us again.Anyone know what I mean by that.Just loving each other with all that we are in christ andenjoy...Expand for more
ing each other more.I would like to hear from anyone who may remember me from high school in 1974/75.You know, after I came home from boot camp nothing or anyone was the same.I gew up,made mistakes and some good decisions, and who I am today I owe to God and my wife.I'm not the part boy I was back then but I'd like to think that I'm pleasant be talk to and be around.Still like to joke and cut up.My wife say's I'm a proffessional pest, but then again most husbands are!I'd like to hear from you all!! I always wanted to be a policeman when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right. fishing, camping,tv If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my head screwed on straight, my dwayne sherriff cd's, and my coffee to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I love MMA sports.wish they had that when I was 20 If I could improve my home, I'd remodel den and add on a 20ft.by40ft screened in porch. My dream home would be a 5 bedroom log home with a wrap around porch and walk out basement. The things they do are not just to hack you off, their just kids.My Austistic daughter taught me that the simpest things in life really are beautiful, like a leaf on a tree blowing in the wind when you looking at it from a foot away. If I won $100 million, I'd give 11million of it to Duane Sheriff Ministies, then spend the rest on my wife, and children for generations to come and myself. My current age is 52. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely wrong. To get my wife back on the road with me and create a show truck or classic My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as strange or interesting. Black pants<Not bells, but i would if I could.balack t-shirts or dress shirts and leather jacket I share my home with my wife and dogs, which I find my little bit of heaven on earth. In 10 years, I hope to be semi retired on the lake. I'm going to get there by cruisin the country and gettn paid for it. My first job was at The U.S.Navy, where I got paid Too little to do too much. What I remember most about it is cruises overseas in the Med.. Now we have a sugarglider
