James's Story

Life I'm not married and have no kids, so my life is pretty much my work. I'm now self-employed as a web developer/designer (interactive.jalcide.com), write music as a hobby (susstones.com/mp3_archive.html) and keep active in the local DJ/Producer scene. I also have several interactive-art side-projects that have been featured at the Walker Art Center. Anyway, I'm very happy, grateful for what I do have, and hope you all are feeling the same in your lives. Take care and warmest regards, James Alcide Park (a.k.a. Jalcide) Workplace James A. Park - Lead Software Engineer, Fallon Interactive Prior to joining Fallon, Jim Park worked for 6 years at Ceridian (formally, Control Data) as an Architect for transaction-based hr/payroll systems for clients such as Reebok, Kmart and Hitachi. He then continued consulting for Ceridian as a senior Y2K Systems Architect and Open-Insight/Y2K algorithms instructor for Wipro and Nexgen, living and working on assignment in Bangalore, India. Jim took a lead role from proof-of-concept through implementation. From systems analysis, to custom tool and methodology development, to the training of an India-based factory of programmers, to setting up and supporting a technical call-center, to production and QA -- and finally, in the last phase -- to the development of tools handling data workflow and reporting for over 30 districts, Jim stayed through until Janurary 1, 2000, after the last system had been remediated, tested, re-test...Expand for more
ed and delivered. Now at Fallon Interactive and focusing on internet-intensive software applications, Jim's passion is the design and architecture of XML-driven websites and their interaction with compelling user interfaces and motion-graphics, using standards-based technologies in the .NET and J2EE space. In addition to his work on high profile Fallon client projects such as the BMWUSA website, BMWFilms, Timex, Bahamas, Archipelego, Microsoft and Starbucks micro-sites, Jim has created and maintains a variety of object-oriented, open-source libraries that help him develop, provide reusable functionality, and animate, advanced dynamic-applications for Flash, DHTML, and various wireless technologies. Jim's career is also his after-hours passion, and he enjoys the challenge of bringing innovation to those things others deem impossible or too experimental. He builds smart-home prototypes that control music and lights from WAP enabled phones, maintains a rack of home servers, and rounds off his multimedia interests with a love for songwriting, production, audio engineering, and interactive sound-design in his modest home studio. His music has been featured on the radio, television, the web, national music expos, talent showcases, and across the country in MP3.com syndicated ASCAP/BMI licensed venues. He was one of five finalist in the Sound Design category in the international 2001 Flash Forward Film Festival, for which he has also been a panelist and technology speaker.
