James's Story
After high school, I attended Cerritos & Rio Hondo Junior Colleges. In 1966, I joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam where I was wounded twice & sent to Okinawa to finish my overseas tour. After the service, I worked for the City of Norwalk in the Public Works garage & later as a mechanic with Gene Hawthorne (Class of '62)
I married my current wife, Carol, we have 3 daughters & 5...Expand for more
grandchildren. I went on the California Highway Patrol in 1971 and retired as a Sergeant in 2000. We've lived in La Mirada & Whittier since we've been married.
Now retired, I enjoy golf and bowling, we also travel using our RV as our home away from home. I also have a '65 Ford Ranchero that I cruise and take to car shows. I've since added a '66 Dodge Coronet to my classic car collection.
