James's Story

Life seemed to go faster after June 1970. Spent 1972 - 1977 in the Army working Air Traffic Control where I met my wife,Becky. We've been calling northern Minnesota home since 1978. While I worked for the Sheriff's Dept, our daughters, Valerie, Diana and Maureen came along, grew up, got married ( 3 weddings in a 17 month span), and now have contributed 4 grandsons to the usual family frenzy. I took an early retirement from the Sheriff's Dept in 2002. The following year found my wife and Diana activated for a 13 month deployment to Iraq. They got through it. ...Expand for more
Me too. Now they're back and I really can't thank God enough for the family He brought into my life. Maybe this comes with getting older, I look back on the years at UDHS as a time when I came to know good people that have stayed in my memory, students and teachers alike. George Bernard Shaw said that youth is such a wonderful thing that it's a pity it's wasted on children. I believe he meant we come to appreciate many events, people and opportunities after they've gone out of our lives and we've all moved on. Hope all is well with you Have a great day, Jim
