James's Story

Life Jim: I spent a couple of years in the US Navy. About 30 years ago I went to work for the California Highway Patrol as an Officer. I am now retired. I sing with a mens chorus and play bass drum with a Scottish Pipeband. I am also learning to play the bagpipes. Corinne (we share one email address, thus have only one Classmates account) Schools: Ivanhoe, Thomas Starr King, John Marshall, LACC, several jr. colleges in San Diego, and finally National University. job moved us from L.A. to San Diego in 1977. Met James (Jim) Schrader in 1988, married in 1989. My job at Aerojet-General Corporation (aerospace) moved Jim and me to the Sacramento area in 1989. I retired from Aerojet in 2009 after 27 years. I now volunteer where used books are sold to earn money for local animal rescue groups, and at the local library. I sing with a Sweet Adelines chorus (joined in 1992) - what an exciting "hobby"! Due to a hereditary hearing loss, I have not been able to fly as a private pilot for many years, and miss that great feeling. Jim and I also sing in our church choir.
