James's Story

Life I was born in Toledo Ohio but grew up in West Seattle. I went to South Shore Middle school in the 7th grade and then went to Denny Middle School in 1983. I graduated from Chief Sealth HS in 1987. After high school I went to Yakima Valley CC and played football and basketball and then transferred to CWU to play football. After graduating from CWU with my BA I enjoyed a successful career as a retail manager working for Footaction USA and Nike. I got married to my college sweetheart, Angie, in 1998 and I have one son by the name of Jordan who is set to graduate from Kentridge HS in 2008. I now work for Prudential NW Realty out of Federal Way as a successful real estate agent. If you are looking to buy or sell a home?....give me a call (206) 290-6387. School My teacher who inspired me the most was Mr. Jones who was also my basketball coach. He told me I could only do two good things at once while I was in high school......Student & Athelete. "James you can be a lover later on in life". I wish I had taken him serious. What I remember most about high school is just hanging out with friends especially all the atheletes I played with. I remember Gerald Smith and I dropped a 40 ounce bottle of Old E in front of Mrs. Atterberry. We just picked up the lable from the busted bottle and kept it movin'. College College was the best time of my life. Free at last from adult supervision. All I remember is having keg parties and going to them. I drove my square roomates (Ramzi Karlous & Deric...Expand for more
k Ross) crazy. I think I partied more during finals week than any other time in college. I played on basketball teams that won intermural championships at CWU & YVCC. I scored 53 points in one game at YVCC. Workplace I started out working at Safeway in high school making $3.50 per hour. I got promoted in high school and was making a wopping $5.50 per hour as a helper clerk. I was really considering just getting a jump start on my work career and skipping college. Thank god I didn't do that. I went to Yakima Valley CC because my former teammates like Dewey Tucker, Sean Mallory, Eric Moe (?) and John Vincent were there playing ball. I worked as Living Group Advisor (LGA) or resident advisor in college. Picture that.....I was suppose to regulate the dorm parties but I was the main guy throwing parties. I also worked at a couple of mini marts while I was in college. After college I managed some the the top athletic retail stores on the West Coast and I am now in real estate. I love my current job because I can see myself getting old in this field. The shoe game was a young bucks game and I rarely worked with people my own age. After I collected all the Jordans, it was time to move on. Since I've jumped into real estate with Prudential NW, I have cracked the Top Ten Agents List, won the Professional Development Award and received numerous sales awards. My peers literally call me "Mr. Prudential". I'm not number one yet but I've got plenty of time to get there with a lot of hard work.
