James's Story

After high school I enlisted in the air force and spent 2 years at Pease AFB in portsmouth NH ,Worked as a crew cheif on KC-135 tanker on the flight line. , I was glad to get out early. Went to work for my dads sign co on and off for several years. Then went through a pretty dark time, running around with the wrong crowd, living on the edge of disaster. I'm sure I let a few people down, including myself. I't took hitting rock bottom before turning my life around. I don't regret my choices , because I was able to learn from my mistakes knowing that some day maby my expereance could help someone else, because I could relate to what they may be up against. Then in the summer of 89 couple of friends and I went to spring break in Fla, and met a girl from GA, When I got back to MA, we kept in touch and after a few months I moved south to GA, to be with her, We soon got married , and moved back to MA and started a family, our first was a girl. Then she wanted to be closer to her home , so we moved to VA ,just outside of DC were I started my own Auto accessories business, things were going well, when we had our second child, another girl ,then 4mo later we lost her to SIDS. Soon after that my wife lost it, and we sepperated ,and 1.5 yrs later we devorsed. She moved back to GA with my first child. I kept my business going for a few more years , Then one evening on my way home from work I stopped at the grocery store to pick up something for dinner ,When I saw the most beautiful looking latin woman I had ever laid eyes on , after a short...Expand for more
encounter in the dairy isle and again in the deli, I asked her to dinner,we exchanged numbers and a few weeks later we had our first date and 17 years later we are still together. We then started our family, in 95 my son was born, We sold the business and moved to NC, Thats when I landed a job in NASCAR , I first worked for Jasper motor sports car 77 as a fabractor and traveled to the track every weekend as a tire specialist and went over the wall as a tire carrier,Then went to work for Hendrick Motorsports 24 truck team as a fabractor, we won the championship in 1997. then got the opptournity to work for the late Dale Earnhart,on the 1 car ,and traveling again every weekend to the track. Then was givin a better offer to work for Jack Roush for rookie driver 17 Matt Kensith , after 4.5 yrs with Roush , I was a part of many wins ,a championship, I left racing to once again start my own business, and my wife and I openned a business building street rods and restoring classics cars. After a few years we out grew our original location and built our current building were we employ a crew of 5 men , building award winning cars and have been featured in chevy High performance magizine and built 2 cars for Hoskis suspension, that were at SEMA two years in a row . We are currently building a 65 chevy pick-up for Richard Childress & GM performance ,that will be featured in the pages of Truckin magizine this fall and will be at SEMA in vegas this Nov 08. My wife and I had another son on Thanksgiving 06. So I guess U could say "Life Is Good"
