James's Story

Life Retired from the army 10 years ago (hardly seems possible). Worked several jobs before coming to my wife's home town and getting hired at the Stout campus of the University of Wisconsin here in Menomonie, WI. We have eight (yes 8) children (4 from the 1st and 4 from the 2nd marriage). The 5th one died at 5 months. There's one girl. I know I've run out of gas because the last three get away with stuff that the older ones wouldn't even attempted. In all seriousness, they are pretty good and God has blessed me beyond all measure with a beautiful wife and loving family. Military My entire military career was spent with the Army Security Agency which is now called the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command. This is a command under Military Intelligence. I traveled throughout the US and in Germany. I met and interacted with people litterally from around the world. The vast majority of my experie...Expand for more
nces have been positive. I've actually seen purple mountains, black hills, yellowstone, mount rushmore, old faithful, and crossed the mississippi. What caught me off guard was to see the fields of cotton in full bloom with old shacks at the end of them. I met great people from all these places. When I was at Rhine Main Air Force Base in Germany, about to come home on leave I was dropped off at the wrong terminal. I had no money and about 10 minutes to catch my flight. An air force brother gave me 5 dollars and drove me to the terminal. I never got his name and I never saw him again. There was a time was I was homeless in Hawaii. If you're gonna be homeless that's the place to be homeless at. We live in the country here and I even have a few gardens going. All in all it's been interesting. It's amazing how things you do early in life prepares you for later challenges.
