James's Story

Ok I was told by someone that my story looked like a resume, so I looked at it trying to be objective, and. yes I saw where they were coming from. Here is a new look. Ok some know, some don't. After Graduation, but within that same month. I was married. I had 2 Children. As a matter of fact at the 10 Year reunion I was presented with the distinguishing longest Married award. I think I still have that thing in a box somewhere. For an Occupation I continued working in the construction field. I had been working with Jim Dolph Mark's Dad for most of 2 years before graduation. I also had My Fathers genes who was a Carpenter by Trade. Not long after Graduation I and my Then new wife moved to Flagstaff AZ where I continued working that trade. Times were difficult, but somehow we prevailed, We had A Daughter June of the following year 79. No we didn't wait long, I often, when asked about children hear "wow, you had them young" To which I usually respond, "Yes they were infants". Well after a couple of years of hit and miss work, and moving often, and now Staying at my fathers house, he puts this bug in my brain about going into the military, My response to this was your crazy, I don't think I would ever do that. You know that the more I thought about it, the more sense that made, so about 6 months later, I went and enlisted into the Marine Corps. My first few years I was in a Tank Division, I traveled a lot and spent many days/weeks/ and sometimes Moths away from home and My family. As far as fun, yes in many ways it was. But when it came time to reenlist I decided ...Expand for more
a job with a future beyond the Marine Corps was what I needed to think about so I reenlisted in an Electronics field. All total I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps. I was in for just over 7 that time, and then when My Marriage was failing, and would end in an inevitable divorce, I went back in. My first Enlistment was from Dec of 1980 until Feb of 1988. My second was from Feb of 1991 until Feb of 1996. During the 3 years I was out of the Marine corps I had some good jobs, I even went back to school and got a 2 year Electronics degree during that time, but when the Marriage was dissolving I decided to get out of town, and the Marine Corp offered the quickest and cheapest way of doing that. After I was out for the second time, I started working for/with a friend that I had met while I was in my Electronics program. That didn't last that long, about 6 months. I then started working after a few other gigs for Allied Signal out of Torrance. I was there at first as a contract employee, but after 13 months became full time. I then joined one of their units as a start up. and they were planning on headquartering in Albuquerque, NM. So I moved to Rio Rancho, NM in November of 1999. I have been here since, although not with Allied Signal, who eventually merged with Honeywell, and now holds that name. In 2001 I left them and started working at the Intel site here in the area. Since getting here I have been working, traveling a lot with the job, and Riding my 06 wasasportster all over. I have had it in 6 states, and 2 countries so far, but there are plans to expand that greatly.
