James's Story

Life hey all, has been awhile. Not much has changed, just a bit older. I'm still in the catv industry. I now work as a service/repair tech. for Time Warner Cable, i'm no longer self-employed. This change took place in the hopes of having children with my lovely wife of 13 yrs Kimberly. Mainly the health coverage. Man what a great gamble this was as we're now the proud parents of Mattea grace and Marissa Elaine. (Matti and Izzi) whom are today tuesday the 3rd on july 12wks old. As i'm writing this i'm enjoying a yearly vacation to daytona fl. I played my best round of golf today, shot a 98. took me 6 yrs of eradic playing to break 100. Well as i said i'm on vacation, just wanted to get signed up in the hopes that there's a 20 yr reunion in the works. Hope everyone is healthy and living fulfilling lives. Military fresh out of high school and eager to see something other than conn. I was off to ft sill, Ok for 8wks of ARMY training, in July....what was i thinking. But made it and off to AIT for training in the Artillery field as a fire direction controller (FDC). Graduated from there, and off to Ft Benning Georgia for jump school.......You Can't Smoke Me Ssgt Webb....Survived and thoroughly enjoyed jump school. My one and ...Expand for more
only duty station was with the 82nd airborne. i was with the 2nd batallion 319th Field artillery regiment from dec 87 thru july 90. missed desert storm by 2wks and wouldn't you know it my unit...Bravo Battery was the first light artillery unit on the ground over there. Missed the excitement, but would have never met my wife. Not enough room here to describe what a wonderful and caring woman i've had the fortune of sharing the last 17yrs with. Oh i also was reactivated during desert storm, went back to ft sill for refresher training which i didn't need... only out for 6 months, and went to strausburg, germany for 3months...almost made it to the desert again and it ended. Came back to the states, cleared at ft dix, NJ and that was the end of my military career. finished up with 47 logged jumps. Most from C-141's a couple from C-130's, 1 huey blast and 1 black hawk jump, 1 water landing, and 1 minor injury when a cherry jumpmaster didn't get my static line and i recieved a nice rope burn down the bicep. And just a note.... if you ever get the chance to jump from a perfectly good aircraft.....DO IT!!!!!!! Words cannot describe the rush. Not military related but also got a chance to skydive (tandem) from 5000ft. A GREAT Thrill!!
