James's Story

Hello to the class of 68. I went into the service before everyone eles graduated. Spent 6 years living in California. Move back to the Northwest after serving in the Coast Guard. Was trained in explosives and port security. While living there I also was married and have two children. Worked and trained in the culinary field. Went into the family business of commercial fishing. Was ship wrecked in Alaska. Replaced with a new boat from Alabama. Worked in fishing until my wife passed away in 1980. Took a job at Intalco Aluminum plant in Ferndale Wa. Worked till 1990, when I went fishing one more time. Had a season and move to Colv...Expand for more
ille Wa. Opened a Seafood restaurant for 5 years, when the spotted owl closed the lumber mills. Headed to Arizona and worked as a chef for the city of London in Lake Havasu. I was hired by Harahs casino. Work at Laughlin and Reno . Have also worked for Union Pacific as a conductor. In 2006 I moved to Lake Kingston Texas . Have been working for the prisons system as a food service manager for 5 years. I think I have slowed down alittle since I have moved here, living next one of the biggest lakes in Texas. There is more to this story, but just wanted to touch base with all my friends that I knew at school. God Bless Jim Westman
