James's Story
Life
Since leaving Chickasha I have lived in various parts of the US. My first real job was in Hot Springs Arkansas, where I managed a lake resort for 3 years. The high lights of Hot Springs was attending Bill Clintons high school graduation, teaching John Provost (the original Timmy on Lasy) how to water ski, and getting to know Pat Day (two time winning jockey in the Kentucky Durby) on a personal basis. Pat rented a chalet at the lake resort each year while he was riding in Hot Springs. After Hot Springs, I moved back to OK and sold insurance for a little while. It didn't take to long to figure out that insurance wasn't my calling. However, the experence of working for Combined Insuracne Company was quite and education in Posivite thinking as the company was run by founder and CEO, W. Climit Stone, co- author of "Think and Grow Rich". After my shot caree in insurance, I went to work for Monro...Expand for more
e The Calculator Company (later know as, Monroe Systems For Business) as a salesperson. I spent 20 years with Monroe. During that time I moved from OKC to Dallas then to Alexandria, LA, then Albuqurque NM, Hartford CT and finally to Phoenix, AZ. The high light of this caree was being promoted to Assistand VP in charge of the Northeast Region where I was responsible for 43 branch offices and 430 employees. I left Monroe in 1986 and started my own business machine company (Arizona Office Equipemnt). On August 8th, 2000, I sold AOE to
Global Imaging Systems. I'm now retired, for the most part. My wife Jeanette and I have a summer home in Flagstaff and a winter home in Phoenix. I have 3 children and 5 grand children. Jeanette has 1 son and 2 grand children. We both enjoy playing golf and live on golf courses in both locations. We also enjoy traveling and have traveled through out the world.
