James's Story
Life
After playing the string bass in orchestras at Walker and South, I quit playing upon graduation in June of 69. Severe head trauma from a car accident in 1972, got me back on the correct path for my life...I applied and was accepted in 1974, into the Physical Therapist assistant program at Milwaukee Area Technical College, graduating with an Associate degree in 1976, beginning employment at the Village at Manor Park as a Physical Therapist Assistant where I am still employed, although in the Physical Therapy pool which means I only work if needed. I had worked for Wheaton/ascension at their various hospitals in the area although retired from their after 35 years(mainly weekends).
I went into singing with the New Horizons Singers in 1978 but evolved back into playing the string bass and getting a chance to "shine" with my harmonica.

vorced after 30 years of marriage although she has since moved back home and we live together as roommates.
Look up newhorizonssingers.com on YouTube to see pictures of our entertainment company in action. There are 4 clips from a show we did in 2001. After the end of Horizons, following our last show 12-31-04, I plan to use my musical talents in other areas.
I've played Santa Claus every year at the Village, missing only Christmas of 2000 because of recovery from, surgery to repair my rotator cuff.
Life is a journey with many unexpected twists and turns.
Workplace
After a serious head injury resulting in a 5 week hospital stay, I later went back to MATC and completed my 2 year AAS degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
I've been working fulltime at the Village at Manor Park since 1976 and part-time pool at St. Joseph/s Regional Medical Center.
I know both sides, once being the patient in need of therapy and now, I can give back!
