James-joseph's Story

In case anyone looks me up: Hello. I hope you are a thriving Gaucho. To date, I've had a surprising amount of fun and satisfaction, while not being particularly successful in many regards. Still single, as all my girlfriends decided they had something better to do. Internationally-published scholarship; but, didn't (try hard to) fit, in academia. Tried to start a consultancy, including being only ponytailed Rotary President I know; but, opted to take over many years of 24/7 caregiving for/of my mom. Now sort of rebuilding after travails of caregiving, by focusing on three projects, that are each a story, respectively. My booklet project is a fundraising idea I got when I realized that each amateur photo I took of the old ECHS buildings, even photos of drinking fountains, came with a lot of memories. Enjoying desktop publishing, I came up with a small booklet for my friends; but, when someone from the Chamber of Commerce saw it and recommended I sell it, I realized it might actually sell if I upgraded it and made it a fund raiser. Then I thought I could shoot just about any school, making them much needed cash, too. Visit thatsmyhighschool.com (soon) to check out (and maybe, order) my booklets on ECHS I, ECHS II and Portola. After losing a lot of my health from helping my mom, I used my epee fencing to rebuild, with bizarre results. I got pretty good in college, but never had the time to seriously compete; and, a badly-torn and misdiagnosed (by Kaiser) Achilles tendon in '00 and my caregiving, left me out of fencing for a decade--until a few years ago. The odd thing is, after spending up to 23hrs/wk to rebu...Expand for more
ild my basics on my own, modestly speaking, I'm insanely better than I ever was. No halucinations or delusions, I swear. It seems kind of geezer inspirational that, recently, after a 2+hr. workout, I roasted a visiting young Finn, ranked in the top World 100--which seemed cool because no American epeeist is ranked higher than the 150's. Like the human body's owner's manual says, 60ish is only supposed to be half-baked. Third project started with the Oakland Hills' Fire, when a new Fire law required me to clear out our yard and I found a wonderful, Late Cretaceous Baculite that somehow got here from the Pierre Shale Deposit in South Dakota (maybe before Louis and Clark). Then I did a lot of research at Cal, found three more fantastic objects and had consultations with the head of Cal's Museum of Paleontology and his field expert. While there are other possible explanations, I'll be darned if it doesn't look as though our Balra yard could have been an important spirit site for the Ohlone (aka, Coastanoans) clan that controlled the Bay Area's largest shell mound (Pt. Isabel, now under Costco), for over 2000 years. My project is to protect the site by establishing a free public museum around the biggest find, the magnetically-challenged, apparent cinder cone from the ancient, ruined Sibley Volcano, just South of the Caldicott Tunnel. A website allowing virtual visits is part of the plan (soon). I'm expecting these projects to facilitate a fourth project, establishing a consultancy based on my doctorate, especially the communication problems in developing so-called Outer Space. Best of luck and skill, Gauchos. J.-J.
