James's Story

Right after high school I went to DePaul to study music. After about a year & a half I'd had enough of college & decided to go to DeVry & study electronics. I received a certification as an electronics technician. I hadn't quite made up my mind as which interest I would follow, music or electronics. After some amount of time an opportunity in music presented itself that seemed at the time too good to resist. Play music & actually get paid for it. Cool...Expand for more
!. I was in this band for 7 years, until 1980. During this time I met and married my wife & we have one child, a daughter who will turn 30 next week. As for jobs, since getting out of the music "biz I've worked steadily. Nothing exciting but they've paid enough to make the mortgage payments. As I'm writing this I'm sitting in a guard shack getting paid to guard a plant that is temporarily shut down & I get to surf the net for 8 hours a day. Life is good.
