James's Story
Life
I am a widower after 29 1/2 yrs marriage. We were together for 31 1/2 yrs. I am a stepfather of two. I lost my stepson in 1995 in a truck accident. I am a grandfather and a great-grandfather and love it! They are truly the reason I go on. I am a licensed Marriage, Family and Child therapist, teach psychology at Mt. SAC and am a Clinical Supervisor I at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center. I am in charge of all mental health for the minors at our facility. I graduated "outstanding graduate" in my graduate program. I volunteer with the Red Cross and am the Disaster Assessment Team. I went to both Hurricane Rita, Katrina and our local fires. It is always a humbling experience. It also fulfills two things I like to do: travel and help people. In August 07' I went to Paris, France by myself. A great experience. has been a long couple of years since my wife died and I am still in transition. We were a great team that accomplished so much! We had a counseling center that served the Inland Empire for 18+ years. We had an award winning child abuse program, drug/alcohol program and were doing alcohol/drug prevention in all the schools in the San Bernardino west end; and much more. I still like to body surf and dance. Have gotten fat and bald! Ah the years have added up on my waist size! I cut off my pony tail after having long hair for 37 years, on the second anniversary of my wife's death. Time to transition. I don't think I will ever remarry but I do appreciate my booty calls! I am grateful of all that has brought me to this inner place in life.
