James's Story
Well since High School, which we all know was a long time ago. I have been through, like most of us a lot. I was in the military S.O.F seen my share of stuff. After serving I decided to travel and see the world. I performed stand up comedy for a while and continued on the side to play the bass , remember the Band that I was in with Greg Brock , Mike Young, Ray William and Bernie Weiss , Ralph Florez . Anyway my love for theatre all began with Mrs D she saw something in me that I didn't see in myself and I am thankful for her teaching and being my Mother , so to speak . Because of the extra love from that woman and her family and all the Theatre geeks like Brad Weisssberg, Dane Slinkard, Harry Blackstone , Mike Poma and many other I was catapulted to continue performing, so I took my military experience and my Highshool theatre experience and began working full-time in film and television as a stuntman/ fight coord / military advisor . I have double Samuel L Jackson, Denzel Washington, Wille Smith and many others . After a life threatening stunt accident in 2001 , which cost me the vision in my left eye and forced me to change my career . I was fortunate and my career somehow evolved in the direction of Producing and acting before the camera. I often think about that one High school and the crazy time we had there . Mostly I think of my buddies ... Ruben Torres , John Villa , Nacho Perez , ...Expand for more
Greg Brock , Mike Poma , Brad Weissberg , Great Dane Slinkard and the late Harry Blackstone R.I.P . I also think of Coach Wolmack , Brain Parker and how it didn't matter what side of the tracks you came from , , as long as you weren't from Yucipa :0)
It didn't matter to any of us back then , what political party your parents represented . The y Ould express their view and after the election it was all good until the next election came but . No one was trying to hurt each other over political difference .... They new that friendship was stronger than political view , and too us kids It just didn't matter ... I guess times have changed.
That school , that town and those friend sculptured me to the man I am today . Of course Redlands wasn't perfect we had " The good , The Bad and the ugly " but still somehow amount of respect and unity towards each other reflected through the mist , at least that's how I remembered it.
I love my work in film and Television . It takes me to many beautiful places and hope to continue with this job until I am 90 years old....That's about it.
And last as I reflect on growing up in Redlands ...it was something special.
Anyway if you want to know more about my career
just google ( Jaymes Butler Actor ) and if you see me in town please say hello
I'm still Jimi Butler from the North side of Redlands and proud of that . " The good old Hartzell street Gang "
