James's Story

The summer after I graduated from EBHS I packed a backpack, hopped on a bus and headed for Colorado. This was the start of the rest of my life for I rarely returned to Bakersfield. After figuring out that working for a living was for the birds, I enrolled at Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. It was at Western I met and married Stephanie. After College I worked as a Civil Engineering Draftsman for a while got tired of the your are hired for this job then see ya. first son was born in New York City, my first duty assignment. After my tour was done we were transferred to Port Angeles Washington and then to Fork Washington were my second son was born. Sorry no vampires for you Twilight fans. I did however calculate that during my stay there 136 inches of rain fell, and most of it was on my head. My next tour was in Washington D.C., which ended up being my last. We moved to Astoria Oregon were we currently reside and own a small dessert bakery. Yes i'm married to a pastry chef. Both the boys are in Masters Degree Programs. One in creative writing and the other in Geographical Information Systems.
