James's Story

Hello classmates, it's been 50 years! Wow, where have the years gone ?After graduation, I attended Middle Ga. College. I transferred to Auburn University in 1968 and studied civil engineering. I enrolled in a program that allowed me to work a quarter and attend classes the next quarter. I worked my way through Auburn graduating in 1971 with a civil engineering degree (BSCE). I got married in 1970 and had my one and only child, my wonderful daughter, Kori. I took a job with Ga. DOT after college as a junior transportation engineer and worked for 32 years retiring in 2002 as State Road and Airport Design Engineer. I was divorced in 1980 and remarried in 1983 to my current wife. After retirement in 2002...Expand for more
, I worked in the private sector as a senior transportation consultant for 10 more years retiring permanently in 2012. That year, I sold my home in Lawrencevville and moved to Indian Rocks Beach,Fl. to my condo that we bought previously in 2001. In 2013, we built our dream home overlooking Clearwater Bay where we currently reside. Today, I play golf, ride jet skis, and fish the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. I also help spoil my two grandgirls. My true passion is tennis. It has helped to keep me stay fit for the past 40 years. Next April I will compete in the USTA 65 and over mens doubles national championships representing USTA Florida. Life is Good! I hope all of you have found success and happiness!
